When a fellow local photographer reached out to me for help with her rebranding photos, I felt honored and excited. Being asked to support another creative professional in such a personal and important project is a privilege. It’s more than just taking pictures; it’s about capturing a fresh identity and vision. This experience not only expanded my local network but also deepened a friendship that I now appreciate.
In this post, I want to share what this collaboration can mean to us all as local business owners, and how working together with other creatives can bring unexpected rewards.
Thanks for the privledge!

The Invitation to Collaborate
When she first contacted me, she explained that she was going through a rebranding phase and wanted fresh photos that reflected her new style and direction. She approved of my work and felt I could bring a unique perspective to her project. That alone was a huge compliment. As photographers, we often work independently, so being trusted to help shape someone else’s visual identity, I felt the pressure!
If you know Casey in real life then you will know that she is colorful, bright, and nothing holds her back from being her genuine self!! which is just BOLD!!! A BOLD WOMEN is a walking lesson many women can learn from.
We photographed in a local known spot outside the city limits. And of course it had to be on the beach! That is where most of our clients want their family beach sessions at to remember those tans or that rad sunburn two years ago. haha!
Our session started at 6pm and it was a cloudy day but when you have skills no lighting situation is too hard for us to handle.

Building a Stronger Local Network
Helping a fellow network buddy can give the chance to connect with someone who understands the challenges and joys of this profession. We shared stories, tips, and ideas beyond the shoot itself. This kind of connection is invaluable in a creative community. AND trust me in a small town like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina you will run in to each other again bet that!
In-fact we met a little over a year ago when we were double booked for the same wedding. Fun! (Guess they really wanted photography coverage)
Growing a Friendship Beyond Business
What started as a professional collaboration quickly grew into a goofy friendship. We discussed how we both came in to photography and the why we need to rebrand. Also how we both are so short and have to stand on our tiptoes alot. LOL
Why Photographers and Creatives Should Collaborate More Often
Professional collaboration among the creative and service industy offers unique benefits:
It expands your creative horizons by exposing you to different styles and approaches.
It builds a supportive network that can lead to referrals and partnerships.
It helps you learn new skills and techniques from others.
It creates opportunities to work on projects that might be outside your usual scope.
It fosters friendships that make the creative journey more enjoyable.
FINALLY LAST BUT. NOT LEAST:
THERE IS PLENTY OF WORK TO GO AROUND, SO NO NEED TO GATE KEEP. IT ONLY SHUTS YOUR DOORS TO LIVE IN ABUNDANCE OF OPPERTUNITY!
