The tide drifts slow through marsh and reed,Sweetgrass bends with tender heed.A hush of gold, the autumn air,Wraps round two hearts that linger there.

No ballroom glint, no gilded scene,Just driftwood pews and mossed oak green.The river hums a soft amen,The gulls bear witness once again.

A porch light flickers down the lane,The sound of fiddles, warm like rain.Cypress tables, oysters steamed,Laughter rising where they dreamed.

Her dress picks up the salt and sun,Bare feet sink where tides have run.He whispers low, the vows unfold—As day turns soft and skies turn gold.

When evening leans on creeks and cane,They waltz beneath the moon’s champagne.The Lowcountry, with breath so
